1、農(nóng)作物秸稈量大，覆蓋面廣，燃料來源充足。2、秸稈含硫量很低。國際能源機構(gòu)的有關研究表明，秸稈的平均含硫量只有千分之3.8，而煤的平均含硫量約達百分之一。且低溫燃燒產(chǎn)生的氮氧化物較少，所以除塵后的煙氣不進行脫硫，煙氣可直接通過煙囪排入大氣。丹麥等國家的運行試驗表明秸稈鍋爐經(jīng)除塵后的煙氣不加其他凈化措施完全能夠滿足環(huán)保要求。所以秸稈發(fā)電不僅具有較好的經(jīng)濟效益，還有良好的生態(tài)效益和社會效益。3、各類作物秸稈發(fā)熱量略有區(qū)別，但經(jīng)測定，秸稈熱值約為15000KJ/Kg，相當于標準煤的50%。其中麥秸稈、玉米秸稈的發(fā)熱量在農(nóng)作物秸稈中為最小，低位發(fā)熱量也有14.4MJ/kg，相當0.492kg標準煤。使用秸稈發(fā)電，可降低煤炭消耗。
